About Us

Who we are

IPCC was born from the idea, effort and enthusiasm of a few people who created an organization that is today a bridge connecting two dynamically developing countries. We promote culture, art, friendship, diversity and diplomatic relations, and above all, every day we try to unite people, enriching them with knowledge, culture and opportunities for cooperation.
The history of IPCC dates back to the autumn of 2001, when under the chairmanship of the then Indian Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Narayan, several enthusiasts met to celebrate the Indian festival of lights – Diwali. Thanks to the courtesy of Mr. Subhramaniam, who made his home available for the occasion, the idea of establishing a committee celebrating the culture of both nations and integrating enthusiasts from India and Poland was born. The initiative was taken by Mr. Umesh Nautiyal, who motivated several people to establish the Indo-Polish Cultural Development Association (IPCC) – a non-profit organization, established with minimal resources but with a huge passion for organizing cultural events.

Over the next five years, IPCC became a registered and fully functioning organization, dedicated to promoting Indian culture and celebrating Indian festivals. Thanks to Mr. Nautiyal’s relentless work and determination, the organization quickly gained respect and recognition, becoming a platform for emerging Indian dance groups to gain the exposure they deserved. His efforts created a pioneering institution that not only promoted Indian culture but also inspired Polish lovers of art, music and dance to explore new and exotic paths of development, often leading to professional careers.

The organization essentially transformed into a cultural envoy. The breakthrough came in 2005-2006, when it began its first bilateral activities, hosting Ryan International Students and enabling them to visit local institutes and schools, as well as organizing performances of one of the leading and most popular Indian singers, Illa Arun, throughout Poland.
These two initiatives led the committee to establish cooperation with many Polish institutions and government organizations and paved the way for a strong alliance that helped the organization promote and work for the sake of Indo-Polish cooperation, cultural alliance and promotion of both cultures.
Working towards this goal, the organization achieved many significant milestones over the next 10 years – from organizing concerts by maestros like Pandit Birju Maharaj, Uma Shankar, Padmashri Geeta Chandran, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Saroja Vidhyanathan and Hariprasad Chaurasia and other renowned Indian artists, to providing free Hindi lessons to Polish friends, with the financial support of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations.
The organization also supported Polish artists in obtaining international scholarships enabling their professional development, organized exhibitions of Indian artifacts at the “Sztygarka” Museum in Dąbrowa Górnicza, promoted Polish literature and history at conventions and distributed books on the subject among Indian expats, diplomats and diaspora. We also helped to establish many institutional partnerships and alliances between India and Poland.

What we do

Since its inception IPCC has planned to achieve new milestones and formed a formidable plan to bring India and Poland closer, by spreading its activities, publishing journals, organizing festivals and conventions, promoting artists from both the sides of globe. IPCC have attained a lot from organizing a diverse HOLI, Diwali, HINDI DAY , publishing magazine, Books on Indian Culture and laying the base of Indian Film festival, promoting new talents in dancing, singing and art, Indian tapestry exhibition and more involvement towards a common goal in bringing “ONENESS IN DIVERSITY” We believe IPCC would be a pioneer, flagship platform which work towards bringing some great opportunities and avenues for INDO POLISH ALLIANCE, and artists, people of both nations experience and enrich their horizons.
